Flipped Frozen is a little fun project by one of our members. The idea is that it is very weird to watch a mirrored version of a film you already know inside out after watching it dozens and dozens of times.
For instance, every decent Frozen fan can dream this sequence…

…but what if you see it like this all of a sudden when you watch the movie for the 100th time?

We can assure you, it is a real weird experiece.
“So, what’s the big deal? Almost every video player can flip the output, why would you render an entire video this way?“
True, true… but if you simply flip the entire film, then scenes like this kind of spoil the mood a bit…

So, that is why our “Flipped Frozen” video is edited to have all the scenes with text not flipped. These are…
- Disney Castle Intro and Walt Disney Animation Studios Intro.
- Frozen Title.
- Agnarr opening the Troll book.
- “Three Years Later”.
- Anna and Hans’ “robot dance” in front of the big tower clock.
- Outside scenes at Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post with the sign visible.
- The entire end credits.
- Disney Castle Outro and Walt Disney Animation Studios Outro.
To complete the “experience”, we also swapped the left and right audio channels so that events that happen on either left or right in the scene also actually have the sound coming from that side.
Small details that indicate the video has been flipped, but we decided to let slide:
- More people are left-handed than right-handed now.
- There is a clock behind Oaken in his shop that now has a flipped clock face. Unflipping that would make a huge part of the film “normal” again for a clock most people probably won’t even notice.
